Due to COVID and unprecedented mandates by Governor Hogan we are postponing the annual meeting until further notice. Once capacity restrictions are lifted, we will reschedule the meeting and post the date and time on the boards, website, and Facebook.
Main Beach will be closed for repairs beginning the evening of Wednesday, July 15th - Friday, July 17th. The Beach will be open for traffic and beach use beginning Saturday morning, July 18th.
The parking lot & speed bumps are being repaired and paved. We apologize for any inconvenience but are excited to announce another improvement in our neighborhood. Stay safe and enjoy your community amenities!
In recent weeks you may have noticed that a shed has been placed at Long Point. This was just the beginning of many improvements occurring in the Beach. The shed was gifted to the Civic Association who then worked hard refurbishing it, leveling an area at Long Point and ultimately having the shed delivered to it's current location as a donation to BEMANCO. When the shed was placed we knew the shingles and some of the roof would need replaced so it could last many years to come in it's new home. The Board of Directors recently voted to approve the funds to purchase the supplies for the roof replacement as we had a member of the Board who volunteered to do the labor. At that time another community member reached out to Jerry Lewis Roofing who agreed to donate all of the materials needed for this project! In a matter of 2 days all of the materials were delivered and a couple volunteers worked to complete the shed roof. This is a great example of what happens when we all work together to make our community the best place in Southern MD!
The BEMANCO Board of Directors ask that you consider Jerry Lewis Roofing
(301) 472-4100 for all of your roofing needs! Lets support the local companies who support us!

Hello Golden Beach Patuxent Knolls Community,
We hope this note finds you doing well. Please be advised that effective Wednesday June 17th, 2020 Victor “Vic” DeMattia has tendered his letter of resignation from the position of President of BEMANCO for personal reasons. Since taking office in January of this year, Vic has worked tirelessly to improve the amenities and overall value of our community and beaches. His efforts to enhance the quality and services provided to the community by BEMANCO have been a benefit to us all. We hope that we can continue to count on Vic as a great resource and valued friend of our community!
The office of President has been filled by former Vice President Harry Grant who worked previously as the President of the Golden Beach Patuxent Knolls Civic Association. Board member Dale Antosh has accepted the nomination of Vice President and was voted into office Thursday June 18th, 2020. Dale brings many years of experience and service to BEMANCO and continues to serve as President of the Golden Beach Patuxent Knolls Civic Association. We feel that the combined efforts and experience between BEMANCO and the Civic Association will serve to mutually benefit both organizations and in turn our community! We eagerly look forward to what our future holds!
Harry L. Grant
BEMANCO VEHICLE PASSES
We will be issuing vehicle passes Sunday May 24th at 10:00 am. Weather permitting.
2019 passes ARE NO LONGER VALID AS OF MAY 1.
You do not need to have a pass for vechicles that you dont take to BEMANCO properties as you will be able to get temporary pass when we have an attendant on duty, if you only use it infrequently. But it will give you unrestricted access to the beaches.
If you launch a boat, we strongly suggest you get a vehicle pass as we will be monitoring the ramps closely to prevent unauthorized use. We are talking to legal counsel and making arraingements for towing services.
All golf carts must have a pass to use the beaches. By law, all drivers of golf carts must be licensed drivers. Underage drivers will not be allowed on the properties. This is a law enforcement issue and not a BEMANCO rule. All golf carts must have liability insurance.
After this, you will need to make an appointment to get a vehicle pass as Attendants will not give out permanent passes. They will only give out temporary passes.
If you have any questions, contact Carol at BEMANCO142@gmail.com
Presidents MessageThe civic association after much deliberation has decided to cancel the Golf Tournament scheduled for June 19th. Even though the golf course is open you cannot have more that 16 people together, no coolers, not touching the pins, no rakes in traps, no awards assembly and no shotgun starts, just foursomes every 15 minutes. With these stipulations we are unable to have our tournament as we have had in the past. If things change we will try to have the tournament later in the Summer or in the early fall.
In addition we are also cancelling the Independence Day parade and fireworks scheduled for June 27th. With the social distancing still in effect and not knowing when it will be lifted we are forced to cancel at this time and hope to re-schedule the parade and fireworks toward the end of the summer. Keep in mind that we must have 2 months to get permits, contact the Fire Marshall, DNR, police for road closings, coast guard, invite officials, contact fire departments etc. Even if everything was lifted today we could not meet the deadlines for our scheduled June 27th event.
I know these are 2 of our biggest events during the year and we all look forward to them every year but we are forced to cancel them at this time. Please refer to our facebook page, our website and my emails for updates as soon as they are available. Thank you all for being understanding and we hope to start having events again as soon as it is safe to do so. Stay safe and continue to follow all the recommendations given by the Governor and local officials.
Dale Antosh Civic Association President
The bridge at Main Beach is starting to look great. Stop by and take a look. Cleaning will continue, pickets and a rotten 4x4 will be replaced. Once thats done, the bridge will be stained and sprayed with preservatives. Thanks to Chris Clark of Salty Dog Day Care for getting this started.
Thanks to Steve Schena and his friends for getting the chunks of concrete and debris off the beach. It looks great and is a lot safer now.
The ramp at Long Point will be repaired this week, probably Wednesday, and the other work should be completed there on the parking lot and field area. Thanks to Edmond Gebhardt for donating his time and equipment to this project.
Also, thanks to Hobie Weimer for stripping the Long Point gate and making it ready for painting. Hobie has been working around the properties to fix many things and installed mooring cleats at Bensons Pier.
Thanks to Ben Stallings and April Oster for refurbishing picnic tables. We have many more to go. So if anyone wants to help tackle some, let me know.
All this work is being made possible because many neighbors are donating their time, expertise, and materials. Without them, all this work would not be possible but this has allowed us to stretch our budget further than we thought possible. There are many more helping and I will be mentioning them over time.
If you are using the ramps, sorry for the inconvenience. Long Point Ramp is closed for repairs from the storms. Unfortunately there will only be one side of the ramp at Indian Creek open. We are working to get everything reopened as soon as possible.
Thanks for the great response. We've issued almost 1000 vehicle stickers. If you were unable to attend one of the 4 times we issued them, dont worry. You need to email our treasurer, Carol Farley, at BEMANCO142@gmail.com. She will advise you if anything is owed on your property and set up an appointment for you to get your sticker issued. We will do this in smaller groups at a time. And at various times.
We will begin issuing tresspassing notices to those that dont have valid stickers. Again, dont worry yet. There will be instructions on how to get stickers if you are eligable, on the notice. We are not going to tow or boot vehicles, at this time, and ample notice will be given before that happens. It is our intention to allow all eligable property owners use of the properties and not punish anyone.
If you are are a properry owner, in good standing,, you are allowed to bring guests and their vehicles. But you must be present and show ID, if asked.
Due to the closing of the ramp at Cape St. Marys Marina, we are concerned about an influx of people trying to use our ramps and we will be monitoring this situation.
Its great to see how many have discovered the properties and are taking advantage of them. We have also relaxed the No Dog rule as we understand that dogs are family members and need to get out too. They must be under your control and you must clean up after them. If we dont have any issues with this, we may consider lifting the rule altogether. But thats to be determined and must pass approval by the Board of Directors.
Ive heard from a lot of residents with great ideas for the year and for future things theyd like to see. I'll be discussing the events with Dale Antosh to see if the GBPKCA is interested in sponsoring these.
In the meantime, please enjoy the facilities and help us take care of them.
Many things are happening around the beach and many improvements are being made. During this time, we've noticed a substantial increase in the use of BEMANCO properties. We want to encourage our residents to continue to enjoy the benefits this community has to offer. There are great opportunities for children, and adults also, to learn about enjoying the outdoors, especially during this time of being together while having to distance socially. Many are taking the opportunity to fish, go for walks, sit and enjoy the scenery and wildlife, kayak, canoe, and even sailboard. Some of my favorite things I've seen thus far are: parents taking their kids on the beaches to explore, and seeing a couple sit in their car at Long Point eating and watching the evening arrive.
BEMANCO is working hard to improve our properties, and ask that everyone take an interest in helping to protect our neighborhood resources.
It might surprise you that being on the Board of Directors of either BEMANCO or The Golden Beach Patuxent Knolls Civic Association, is a Volunteer position and that the majority of the work being done is by great volunteers from our neighborhood who want to help make this a great place to live and raise kids. We can only continue to provide the services as long as there is continued support from you.
We ask that you help by reporting any vandalism so we can attempt to identify the individuals responsible and get restitution. We have already served one individual with a no trespassing order but hope he will one day offer his services in a positive way.
This week several things have been going on:
Bensons Pier was finished and docking cleats were ordered.
The next phase of Long Point grounds
improvements was started.
Rod holders were installed on the fishing pier at small beach through the generosity of one of our neighbors.. We are aware there are a few boards missing and will be replacing those soon.
A donated and refurbished picnic table was put at Main Beach near the grill.
We had two food trucks.
Approximately 400 vehicle stickers were issued this weekend, bringing the total to over 500.
Trent hall Pier is scheduled to be redecked in some areas, in the near future.
There are many more items on the never ending list, but it is great to see our community enjoying things so far.
When this national event is over, we look forward to having activities sponsored by the GBPKCA once again.
